Micro-Laser Range Finder
Laser range finders are a vital component of high precision targeting engagements. The precise and accurate range-to-target information is an essential variable in the fire control solution of today’s sophisticated weapons. This range information is readily provided by the laser range finder, however, current fielded laser range finders are bulky, heavy, difficult to mount onto weapons, eye haz...
متن کاملPIDAR: 3D Laser Range Finder
The Pidar provides 3 dimensional points to a client that represent a 3 dimensional environment. An infrared laser sensor provides distance data along a Z axis and angular data on an x axis. A motor rotates the laser mechanism around a Y axis; this supplies the system with the necessary data in order to create a 3D point cloud representation of an environment. The Pidar utilizes a Linux operatin...
متن کاملA Fully Integrated Range-Finder Based on the Line-Stripe Method
In this paper, an imaging chip for acquiring range information using by 0.35 μm CMOS technology and 5V power supply has been described. The system can extract range information without any mechanical movement and all the signal processing is done on the chip. All of the image sensors and mixed-signal processors are integrated in the chip. The design range is 1.5m-10m with 18 scales.
متن کاملLaser intensity-based obstacle detection
We present a novel method for obstacle detection for automated highway environments. Laser range scanners have frequently been used for obstacle detection for mobile robots. Although most laser scanners provide intensity information in addition to range, laser intensity has been ignored by most researchers. We show that laser intensity, on its own, is sufficient (and better) for detecting obsta...
متن کاملTorso Detection and Tracking using a 2D Laser Range Finder
Detecting and tracking people in populated environments has various applications including, robotics, healthcare, automotive, security and defence. In this paper, we present an algorithm for people detection and tracking based on a two dimensional laser rage finder (LRF). The LRF was mounted on a mobile robotic platform to scan a torso section of a person. The tracker is designed to discard spu...
